Assignment 4

1. Discuss what the main idea of the video is?
Our future generations are changing and they do not have the same way of thinking as their parents did when they were young. The video shows us how we are losing our values starting with the lack of communication with our families. There are different kinds of people that have either a future or past oriented way of thinking. They either look forward or stay behind.

 2. Do you see yourself as past oriented or future oriented? Why?
I see myself as future oriented because I don't look back to my past. What I look to and worry about is the future and what new things will be coming up. If you look to your past, you don't focus on what is going to be happening later on in life and that's very important to do so.
 3. Do you agree or disagree with the speaker in the video? Explain why?
I do agree with the speaker in the video because he explained most of the things we do everyday and how much time we waste on being on the computer, or video games when we should be socializing outside in the real world. We are not spending enough time with our families and one day we will all regret not doing that.
 4. Do you agree with the speaker's view that young adults' minds are being "digitally rewired"? Explain your answer.
I do agree with the speaker's view because we spend way too much time on the computer. Now a days, we are too lazy. Instead of being able to communicate by talking, we use our cellphones to ask for a favor when the person is right in front of you. Boys spend a lot of their time playing video games at home and don't go out to socialize and play real games.

5. Why does the narrator in the video argue that young people dislike a single-function device such as a wristwatch?
People dislike the watch because it performs one task at a time. They are so used to using multitask objects that they  think that the watch is useless. They can easily just take out their cell phone and check the time. The wristwatch is something that young people don't really need.

1. Why did Sir Tim Berner's Lee decide to make the World Wide Web free when he created it at CERN?
Tim Berner Lee wanted the world wide web to be available for everyone. He wanted everyone to have the opportunity to use it. He believed that it was not something that you should pay for, instead it should be free for everyone.

2. What are the benefits of having "web addresses," an idea that Sir Tim Berner's Lee created?
It is a great idea because there are so many web pages on the internet that with this each site will have its own address. If all websites had the same address you would not be able to find the website you are looking for. Also, the idea of having the web address translated from "computer" language to our language was a great idea because that way we can understand what it is saying.

3. How does the World Wide Web allow people from all over the world to communicate?
We can communicate through blogs, social networks, e-mails, and via other methods thanks to the world wide web. We can talk to people from the other side of the world instantly. The world wide web has facilitated humans to communicate to other people in a cheaper and faster way.

4. Why is it important to link information? What are the benefits of having instant access to information?
Because of links, webpages are all connected as the word says, a "web." We are able to take ourselves form one site to another with just a click. It is easier and faster because it takes you instantly to the next page you want to go to.
